Let's Unite Against Bullying

Each year the Alliance Against Bullying highlight the issue of Bullying and help us to focus on ways in which we can tackle the issue.

Anti-Bullying Week 2020 is from 16th - 20th November and kicks off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 16th. Last year 75% of UK schools got involved with the message 'Change Starts With Us' reaching over 700 million young people. We hope that once again this will raise awareness of bullying and help us to pull together to find a way to combat it and its devastating effects.

Anti-Bullying Manifesto

This year's theme, which has been developed with the help of over 300 young people and 100 members of school staff, is United Against Bullying. We love the manifesto they've developed:

"This year, more than ever, we've witnessed the positive power that society can have when we come together to tackle a common challenge.

Anti-Bullying Week is no different. Bullying has a long lasting effect on those who experience and witness it. But by channelling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, we can reduce bullying together. From parents and carers, to teachers and politicians, to children and young people, we all have a part to play in coming together to make a difference.

We're all a piece in the puzzle, and together, we're united against bullying."

Anti-Bullying Week 2020 Tips

There are plenty of resources available from The Anti-Bullying Alliance to help parents and carers support their children and bring this year's theme to life.

Encouraging Positive Behaviour at Camp

Barracudas has always been committed to tackling this kind of behaviour if it ever occurs within our camps and take immediate action to cut it off at the head. We encourage mutual respect and tolerance in all our groups and actively promote the values of teamwork and inclusivity.

We'll be wearing our odd socks on Monday, so keep an eye out on our social media channels for the evidence!

We hope this helps you and look forward to uniting with you against bullying!
