Take it easy with these simple DIY costume ideas for kids!
Fridays have an extra sprinkling of fun at Barracudas Activity Day camps.
This is your child's chance to use their imagination and wear something a little crazy.
These are all simple, in-expensive, no-sew ideas for our Easter Theme Days that you can do at home!
Farm Fun, Friday 12th April
Pig, cow or a duck. Or get your tweed & denim at the ready and come as a farmer!
Pig
You'll need:
Pink hoodie, pink card, loo roll tube, elastic ribbon
Instructions:
Cut some pig ears out of some pink card & attach to the hoodie. To create a nose cut about 4-5cm deep off of a toilet roll tube. Close one side up with a oval of pink card left over from the ears or just use plain card & paint the whole nose pink. Draw on 2 black nostrils. Attach elastic or ribbon to tie to face.
Cow
You'll need:
White t-shirt or pillowcase, black sharpie style pen/marker
Instructions:
Draw black patches onto your white top/pillow case (cutting an arm & neck hole into it first). Tie long hair into looped ear style bunches. Or you could add ear shapes to a headband.
Farmer
You'll need:
Checked shirt, dungarees, straw hat, wellies or boots & gloves

Lookalike Laughs, Thursday 18th April
Will you be someone you know well, someone you admire or someone famous like your favourite sports star?
Someone famous
Become your footie hero today by wearing your favourite football kit. Maybe another sports star such as a Rugby player or horse rider. Or possibly your favourite movie character!
Someone you know well
Do you love your Nana & Grandad? Why not be them for the day! It would be so much fun to dress up as someone from your family. Wear glasses & a shirt or a floral dress, a head scarf & a cardi.
Someone you admire
Maybe you could be a mini me of your favourite member of Barracudas staff!
Earth's Elements, Friday 26th April
Represent the ocean by wearing blue or be a mermaid! Come as an element from the periodic table by dressing in silver or gold. Or could you become weather or fire?
Mermaid
You'll need:
White T-shirt, sharpie or fabric pens, long green/blue fabric, ribbon/hair elastic
Instructions:
Using sharpies or fabric pens, draw 2 shells onto the front of the T-shirt. Create a no-sew tail with a piece of fabric. Tie it around the waist, then using ribbon or a hair elastic gather 2 sections at the bottom in a tail shape & secure.
Weather
Become a rainbow by wearing multi coloured items of clothing. Or create your very own rain cloud by decorating it with cotton wool!
Periodic Table
Dress in Silver or Gold. That's it!
Fire
You'll need:
Coloured felt, card or tissue paper, red/yellow/orange t-shirt
Instructions:
Cut out from felt, card or tissue paper some flame shapes & attach to a red, yellow or orange t-shirt. Wear with black leggings or tracksuit bottoms.
